Town group helping us go green

WITH more and more people continuing to enjoy the good life, a group of green-fingered Bostonians is aiming to spread the environmental message around the town.

Members of Boston Greenscapers are on a mission to encourage more people to get into growing their own veg and making their green space look nice, in a bid to improve and tidy areas of the town.

Fresh from the success of attaining a level three in the It’s Your Neighbourhood campaign, the group has launched a series of gardening sessions to give people the chance to improve skills.

Armed with a greenhouse, an allotment and the chance of getting hold of a adjoining plot on the Cuckoo Lane site on Wyberton Low Road, the group aims to get as many people as possible interested in their mission.

The greenscapers evolved from a Placecheck project in the town, which focused on weeding and planting along John Adams Way.

A team of volunteers soon got together who were all prepared to pitch in to make Boston a nicer place.

The group recently took part in the town’s first entry into the Britain in Bloom competition.

Anyone interested in taking part can head along to Geoff Moulder Leisure Complex at 1.30pm on Mondays or contact Rob or Rachel Lauberts on 01205 312876 or bostongreenscap
