Two Boston leaders have spoken out to offer their support over the explosions which have rocked our daughter city of Boston Massachusetts.
The blasts took place yesterday during the Boston Marathon, an event which attracts many runners from around the world, including here in Lincolnshire.
Following the incident, Canon Robin Whitehead, the vicar of Boston wrote on our Facebook wall: “The thoughts and prayers of us all in Boston Lincolnshire to our many friends in the beautiful city that bears our name. The eyes of the world are truly upon you today.”
Boston MP Mark Simmonds also wrote on his twitter account (@MarkJSimmonds): “saddened to hear of the awful events in Boston, USA. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.”
Boston’s Mayor Colin Brotherton has also offered his condolences.
