A BOSTON tattooist has just gone premier after ‘inking’ Tottenham Hotspur and international footballer David Bentley.

Mark Frost, who works at Sim1nk tattoo studios in Wormgate, was invited to the footballer’s home to tattoo his arms and completed a ‘new school’ design of a flaming Ace of Spades card on his left arm.

“I couldn’t believe it when he contacted me to say he wanted me to come down to his home in Hertfordshire and tattoo him,” said spurs supporter Mark, 32.

“I was sceptical it would actually happen and kept thinking he would cancel or something would throw a spanner in the works – but I went down on Wednesday and tattooed him for three-and-a-half hours – and his girlfriend Kim who had a swallow with rosebuds on her wrist.

“He was a thoroughly nice bloke and hugged me when I got there.”

Mark was recommended to David by a friend who runs a football ticketing company and is due to go back in two weeks to complete a ‘sleeve’ tattoo on his right arm.

“It takes around 30-40 hours to tattoo each arm,” said Mark.

“He also wants me to join them up to an old tattoo on his shoulders and bring the design across his back - so I will be spending many more hours at his home yet.”

Mark, who currently lives in Lincoln, has had his fair share of bizarre tattoo requests, including intimate tattoos of a ‘horny devil’ face for a female client and a ‘tiger’ on a man.

“I’ve also done tattoos for some British porn stars and glamour models,” admitted Mark. “You’d be surprised how many of them in this line of work that have body art!”

This is the second recent high-profile success enjoyed by the tattooists at Sim1nk. In April The Standard ran a story on the studio’s owner, Simone Walters, who won top prize at a national tattoo convention and received praise from renowned US celebrity tattooist Kat Von D.
