The works taking place in Boston
CURRENT or planned roadworks listed by Lincolnshire County Council as taking place in the town include:
l Gas works being carried out on Fydell Street which have closed the road until January 21. After then it will be open to westbound traffic only until February 11.
lThe A16 Spalding Road will have part of a lane closed between January 9 and January 20 to refurbish a pedestrian crossing so that the green man is to the pedestrian’s right hand side instead of straight ahead. The closure is on the approach to the Spirit of Endeavour in each direction.
lSkirbeck Road will be affected between the same dates to replace gas for The Volunteer pub which is being converted into flats. This will include two-way traffic controls and will take five days.
l Horncastle Road will also be affected sometime between the same dates for carriageway patchwork – this will take two to three days and will require two-way traffic lights.
l Sleaford Road has a lane closure near the junction with Boardsides for drainage work. These works are almost complete now.
l The Market Place improvements which have closed the market off until March 11 and Bank Street until March 18 and which will close Wide Bargate to accommodate the town’s market until March 14.
A county council spokesman said that just because the works are planned between two dates it does not mean the closures will all take place at the same time and for that length.
Last week the railway crossing on Spalding Road was closed while Network Rail completed an annual level crossing test.
