Motorists have experienced heavy traffic congestion in Boston town centre today as a six-week period of works to install a new cycle path begins.

One lane of John Adams Way is to be shut in each direction around Haven Bridge between 9.30am and 3pm.

The closure comes to allow a new cycle path to be installed between South Square and the crossing where High Street meets John Adams Way.

High Street is also shut between the John Adams Way junction and Nelson Way for the duration of the works.

The lane closure could last up to six weeks, although John Adams Way will operate with both lanes outside the 9.30am-3pm time slot.
