COUNTY councillors have delayed a decision on a permanent ban for traffic turning right at a Boston junction.
Members of the authority’s planning and regulation committee met on Monday and considered barring traffic being able to turn right from Sleaford Road into Brothertoft Road.
The move was temporarily introduced in April.
Since then county highways officers have conducted surveys and say it has helped stop queuing cars from congesting the busy A52.
However a report for committee members admitted that the temporary move has increased traffic along Carlton Road and Sydney Street, near Carlton Road Primary School.
In Carlton Road traffic is up 31 per cent and Sydney Street it is up 300 per cent.
Officers had said the ‘benefits outweight the dis-benefits’.
Members voted to defer a decision until September.
