Boston seems to have escaped many of the negative effects brought on by the weekend’s bad weather, police have said.

A spokesman for the force told The Standard there were no serious traffic incidents on the roads over the weekend, and nobody was seriously injured.

Two cars came off the road and went into ditches – one at Sutterton Dowdyke, at 8.30am on Sunday, and another at Hobhole Bank. Nobody was injured in either incident.

Another incident, which happened at Drainside South in Kirton on Saturday, was not related to the weather, the spokesman said.

An Audi A6 left the road during the afternoon and two people were taken to hospital. The 27-year-old woman who was driving the car and her 29-year-old male passenger did not suffer serious injuries.

Cold weather is set to continue in the area over the next few days, according to weather reports.
