The A52 and A17 are the targets for the county council’s next roadworks in Boston over the months of September and October.

Andy Wharff, area highways manager said, “We recognise that these are busy, well used roads, therefore all works will take place overnight between 8pm-6am to keep disruption and delays to a minimum.

“Weekend working will also be avoided to ensure residents and other road users are inconvenienced as little as possible.

“This essential maintenance work will ensure the roads will be in good condition for many years to come, avoiding the need to make frequent return visits in future to carry out repairs.”

Starting from Friday, the works will include:

○ A17 Swineshead Bridge (September 18-21, excluding weekend) – Resurfacing and drainage works. Road closure on the A17 between A1121 Boardsides and Bicker Bar roundabout.

○ A17/A52 Bicker Bar Roundabout (September 22-October 6, excluding weekend) – Reconstruction and resurfacing of the carriageway on the A17 and the A52. Road closure on the A52 between Golden Grove and Fendike Lane and temporary traffic lights on the A17.

○ A52 Willoughby Hills Boston (September 24-October 1, excluding weekend) – reconstruction and resurfacing of the carriageway on the A52. The A52 will be closed between Johnsons Garden Centre to Wythes Lane. A diversion will be in place via the A52, A16 and A158.

○ A17/A1101 Long Sutton Roundabout (October 6-15, excluding weekend) – reconstruction and resurfacing of the carriageway on the A17. Road closure of the B1359 leg between the roundabout and the access road to the Service Station. Both A17 legs near the roundabout, and the A1101 leg will remain open under temporary traffic lights between 8pm-6am.
