WORKS are due to begin tomorrow which will close Fydell Street for six weeks.
The National Grid is to begin the second phase of a £65,000 investment to replace gas mains in Boston.
The project to replace 170 metres of pipeline will last six weeks and will also close Irby Street.
The new pipe will last for around 80 years if left undisturbed.
National Grid has said that it will be necessary to close Irby Street for the duration of the work as the mains is located underneath the road. The company said this would be safer for the travelling public.
Fydell Street will be closed for the first two weeks outside houses two to 16, preventing access from Grand Sluice Bridge this will be followed by a one way system in the later stages of the work.
There will be a fully signposted diversion route via Witham Bank East, Norfolk Street, Tawney Street, Wide Bargate, Horncastle Road, John Adams Way, Haven Bridge, Liquorpond Street, Queen Street and Lister Way.
