Andy Wharff, area highways manager for LCC, said: “We are currently sourcing a new bench and will look to replace the damaged one as soon as possible.”

A spokesman for Boston Borough Council added: “We are reviewing CCTV images in a search for evidence of how and who may have caused the damage.”
