Road surfacing work is due to take place on a main Boston road this weekend.

On Sunday, the A16 Spilsby Road is due to undergo work, with ‘stop and go boards’ managing traffic.

Martyn Allen, network and development manager at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “This Sunday the A16 Spilsby Road in Boston will be surface dressed as part of our annual maintenance programme from Freiston Road to Burton Corner roundabout.

“Works will commence from approximately 7am to enable the approaches to Holy Trinity Church to be completed before services commence.

“Works should be completed by early afternoon and residents are asked not to leave cars parked on Spilsby Road after 7am on Sunday to help us complete the works as quickly as possible.

“The works are being carried out on a Sunday to minimise delays to the travelling public and businesses, but we appreciate local residents may still suffer some inconvenience for which we apologise.”

The authority has said the work is weather dependent.
