A TOWN centre road in Boston will stay shut after the May Fair for repairs to be carried out - and could now close for good.
Bank Street is shut while the fair is in town, until May 13, but highways bosses have now announced plans to keep it closed afterwards for repairs to be made to the surface.
Lincolnshire County Council says it hopes to use materials left over from the Market Place revamp to repair Bank Street.
The authority says that there was support shown to permanently shut Bank Street during the consultation process for the Market Place work.
It will now consult on the issue further and ask local businesses and other interested parties for their views on the closure.
