Two weeks of roadworks on John Adams Way in Boston

On Monday, April 10, works will begin to complete the permanent layout for the right-turn ban on South End.

This project is expected to last about two weeks.

To allow the work to be completed, the South End approach to John Adam’s Way will be temporarily reduced to one lane.

There will be some minor narrowing of the lanes on the other two sides of the island.

There will be no restrictions on John Adams Way.

In addition, the pedestrian crossing on South End from the Grammar School to Haven Bridge will be closed, with pedestrains directed to the John Adam’s Way crossing.

At the same time, essential maintenance works will be carried out on Liqourpond Street roundabout.

This will involve overnight lane closures between 7pm and 6am.

Highways manager Amy Wharff said: “These works will help improve the flow of traffic on a main route through the town, making it easier for people to get around.

“In order to minimise disruption, the works have been planned to coincide with the Easter holidays.”
