Road works to improve problems with surface water and drainage in Kirton’s Station Road are to take place later this month.

Lincolnshire County Council says a new pipe behind Kirton Fire Station leading to Kings Court will help to improve highway drainage on the road and standing water in the car park at Kirton Town Hall.

The works will take place on Monday, November 11, and last for two weeks, weather permitting.

The footpath which links Kings Court to the playing field will be closed during the works. A small section of Kings Court will be closed for three days but access will be maintained for residents. For two days of the works temporary traffic lights will be in operation on Station Road.

Andy Wharff, area highways manager said: “While these works are taking place we will do our best to keep disruption to a minimum.

“By completing our work, the drainage on Station Road and in the Town Hall car park should be greatly improved, minimising any future surface water on the highway.”
