Trapped bird is released by firefighter

A ROOK trapped for hours in netting at Boston’s Hussey Tower was rescued by a firefighter on Sunday.

One Boston fire officer attended at about 5pm with his ladder and freed the bird. It was then handed over to the RSPCA which took it to a wildlife hospital for a check-up.

The rook is expected to be released back into the wild today (Wednesday).

Attending RSPCA animal welfare offier Kate Burris offered thanks to the fire service for turning out to assist them on the day.
