UPDATE: Pensioner dies after car leaves road and enters drain

An 82-year-old Boston man has died as a result of a car crash near Sibsey yesterday (Saturday).

The Jaguar he was driving left the road and entered the Stonebridge Drain, said a police spokesman.

They added: “The 82 year-old driver of the car, who was the only occupant, was taken to Boston Pilgrim but was sadly pronounced dead soon after arrival.”

The road re-opened at about 8.30pm.

SATURDAY, 9.30PM: Emergency services have been called to the scene of a serious accident in Sibsey.

The accident happened at about 4pm today (Saturday) in Williows Lane.

A police spokesman said the vehicle ‘left the road’ in the area of the bridge and entered Stonebridge Drain.

The road was closed at the Frithville and A16 ends of Willows Lane.

No further information was available.
