UPDATE: Police at scene as Boston murder investigations continue

Officers are this morning at the scene of a murder in Boston, continuing their appeal for information.

Marina Erte, 33, was found dead at a property in Elizabeth Road, Boston, on Friday.

DI Jim Hodgson, of EMSOU Major Crime and who is leading the enquiry, said: “We had a number of officers in the area of Freiston Road, Church Road, Windsor Crescent, Rowley Road and St Ann’s Lane, Boston, this morning talking to people who might usually be in the area at that time.

“We are looking for information relating to a man we think might be relevant to our enquiry and who may have been in the area between around 7am and 8am a week ago, on Friday May 20.

“He is described as wearing a hoody-style top, shorts and white trainers. If you saw him and haven’t yet spoken to us please do let us know on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 228 of 20/05/2016.

“Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”

THURSDAY: A 32-year-old man has this morning been charged with the murder of a woman found dead in Boston on Friday. Gytis Griskevicius, of St Anns Lane, has been charged with the murder of Marina Erte.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court this morning.

DI Jim Hodgson, of EMSOU Major Crime and who is leading the enquiry, has repeated his appeal for witnesses and information.

He said: “Our investigation is still continuing and I’m keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area of Elizabeth Road, where the victim was found in a property on Friday, May 20, between the hours of 6pm on Thursday, May 19, and 3pm on Friday, May 20.

“Also, if you have any information you think might be relevant to the investigation please contact us on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 228 of 20/05/2016.

WEDNESDAY: Police have named the woman who was found dead in Boston on Friday.

The body of Marina Erte, 33, was discovered at a property on Elizabeth Road on Friday afternoon.

Police have confirmed her death is being treated as murder and an investigation into the circumstances is continuing.

Yesterday (Saturday) a 32-year-old arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the investigation was released on police bail pending further enquiries.
