Police are carrying out investigations in a Boston street after a woman was attacked in the early hours of this morning.
Officers have said that at around 4.25am today (Saturday) a 27-year-old woman was attacked by a man on Liqourpond Street.
The woman was left ‘very distressed and shocked’ but otherwise was ‘not injured’ say the police.
Police have not given any further details about the nature of the incident.
A spokesman said: “We are still in the process of tracing and speaking to witnesses but at this point there is no detailed description of the offender.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to call Det Sgt Matt Sharpe on 101 quoting incident number 94 of August 16.
9.40am: Police have confirmed they are carrying out an ongoing investigation in Boston’s Liquorpond Street.
The on-call Duty Inspector confirmed they were responding to a call from the early hours of this morning.
It is understood the area is taped off.
Insp Helen Stamp said: “We are in the early stages of an investigation.”
There had been rumours on social media that the incident involved a firearm but police have said this is not the case.
“I can confirm it is not related to firearms,” said Insp Stamp,
