An event held to mark the 70th anniversary of VE Day in Boston raised £2,000 for good causes.
The fun-filled day of 1940s nostalgia, military memorabilia, reconstructions and evening dance was held at the Princess Royal Sports Arena (PRSA) in May. They money has been split between the Royal British Legion and Help For Heroes.
The RBL intends to use their £1,000 towards a new Wednesday drop-in centre in Boston, and Help For Heroes will use theirs to help support injured service personal.

The organisers (pictured above handing over the cheques) plan to do a similar event next year to raise further funds and awareness for these charities.
