An advert showing dramatic CCTV footage of last year’s floods has been released on the anniversary of the disaster.
Produced by Boston Borough Council as part of the ‘Floods Destroy - Be Prepared’ campaign – it aims to get residents to sign up to the emergency Flood Line so they can be prepared in the event of another tidal surge.
The video shows several spots around the town as the water seeps into roads and up to buildings, including The Standard’s office in Church Lane.
The automated Environment Agency message those calling the flood line would have heard on the night is played over the footage - along with the eerie sound of sirens.
It will be screened at Boston’s West End Cinema, in West Street, from today for a week. All of the cinema’s five screens will show the advert at every film showing.
Posters to be displayed at the cinema and registration cards to take away.
