AN IMPRESSIVE turnout watched as the Frampton beacon was lit to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Parish chairman Coun Graham Reams had the ‘great honour’ of lighting the beacon before a spectacular fireworks display rounded off the night.
“We have had a great turnout, not only from our parish but also from several other parishes,” he said.
Coun Reams said he was delighted the area could play its part in a national celebration, with the Queen lighting the final beacon – of thousands from across the country - outside Buckingham Palace.
“This really is a fitting way to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee,” said Coun Reams.
