The moggy was retrieved from a pipe cover overhanging the water near Town Bridge by crews using a new hydraulic platform from Skegness.

Three crew members were lowered down and managed to snatch the plucky pet from the pipe - to cheers from the watching crowd.

After a bit of hissing and scratching - the creature was put into a rescue bag and brought back up.

It has now been taken by Boston police to get checked at a vets for a micro-chip in the hope of reuniting it with its owner.
