Volunteers needed as economic pressures increase CAB workload in Boston

VOLUNTARY roles to help boost work experience and CVs are on offer at Boston’s Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB).

The CAB says with current high unemployment, economic pressures and cuts to public services, the contribution made by volunteers is ‘needed more now than ever’.

During 2010/11, volunteers and caseworkers at the CAB dealt with more than 6,500 new enquiries raising 13,500 issues.

Boston CAB chief executive Stuart Hellon said: “Without their passion and generosity our bureau would struggle to survive, and the cost to Boston’s economy of unresolved problems would soar.”

Volunteers are needed for roles including advisers and receptionists, marketing, administration and publicity.
