Police have reassured residents there will be a visible presence of officers during the demonstration.

Chief Insp for Boston Paul Timmins said: “We are aware and are currently in communication with the organisers. However we can reassure our public that we are policing all aspects of this event appropriately.

“We do not anticipate any disruption to anyone wishing to go about their normal business on the day.”

A statement from the UKIP party asked EDL organisers to ‘think
again’.

It said: “The planned demonstration by the EDL will do nothing to enhance community cohesion; it is more likely to do the opposite which is the reason why we would ask the leaders of the EDL Lincolnshire Branch to think again before proceeding with their plan.”
