A woman has been taken to intensive care in Nottingham following a collision in Fosdyke Bridge on Saturday.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place at 3pm, on the A17 Long Sutton Road, between a silver Renault Clio and a red Ford Fiesta.

A spokesman said two people were taken to Pilgrim Hospital, however one of them, a 22-year-old Fishtoft woman, who was a passenger, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, when it was found her injuries were worse than originally thought.

They said she remains in critical intensive care and may require surgery.

Police are keen to speak to any witnesses who were in the area, in particular the driver of another vehicle which is believed to have been in front of the Clio and which may have taken avoiding action.

Details to the police non-emergency number 101.
