Twelve young people have worked hard to tidy up the Wrangle Youth Club site.
They came armed with pruners, rakes, wheelbarrows and a contribution towards a friendship and chalked up 73 hours trimming back hedging and stray branches, levelling surfaces, mending football goals and demolishing play area equipment that was beyong repair.
Club leader Jayne Bonsor said she was ‘overwhelmed’ by the committment and dedication they showed.
“Twelve of our members volunteered their time to help to make our playing field a safer place for the other Youth Club members and the general public,” she said.
“As leaders we have a great belief in young people but we were overwhelmed by the number of members who volunteered and the committment and dedication they showed to getting the tasks fully completed.”
