A desire to help their town should be motivation for new councillors

THERE seems to be a misapprehension Coun Ray Newall, I never intimated in my original letter that councillors should be drawn from any particular section of our society.

So, yes, we agree that any and everybody should be able to apply themselves if they wish. However, I did abhor the fact that an 85 per cent increase in allowances was supported by you regardless of the figures you quote.

Yes the ‘desire to help people in Boston’ should be the main reason and not the allowances which accompany the job.
