Angry if voted for Tories

LAST year ahead of the general election I remember the Tories sticking up posters assuring the public they were ‘serious’ about dealing with problems about MPs’ expenses.

Then, the moment the Tories get control of the local council here, they vote themselves a massive increase in allowances.

Obviously the Tories are indeed ‘serious’ about expenses: serious, that is, about wedging their own snouts in the trough to the exclusion of everyone else.

If I were among those unfortunate people who had been conned into voting for the Tories twice in the last 14 months, I would be pretty angry with them now.
