I WAS in town recently as the school children were on their way home, and I was very concerned at the lack of notice taken of traffic lights.
These youngsters were just happily riding through red traffic lights with no regard to crossing pedestrians or oncoming vehicles, and were rude when challenged.
I gather that the school in question does cover the importance of road discipline regularly but to no avail.
This dangerous behaviour coupled with the motorists who regularly ‘jump the lights’ at the Coney/Iceland junction will undoubtedly, before too long, lead to a tragic accident.
What I wonder can be done to improve this situation?
