FOLLOWING recent reports regarding the quality of care at the Pilgrim hospital, I would like to share my thoughts as a member of staff.
Poor patient care is entirely unacceptable and goes against everything medical professionals train for. Unfortunately, isolated cases tend to reflect on the entire hospital and give everyone a bad name.
I am directly involved with patient care and take great pride in what I do.
Every patient matters to myself and my department and we strive to meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs at all times.
I’m not denying there are changes that need to be made within the hospital, but there are also areas to be proud of – please don’t tar us all with the same brush.
