Judge councillors on more than just meetings

AS A past Boston borough councillor I was interested to read your front page article titled ‘Bottom Of The Class’.

The productivity and effectiveness of a councillor runs far beyond how many meetings they have sat through.

To many councillors, meetings are a chance to play party politics, hear their own voice or just catch up with cronies.

There is a lot of ward work to be done behind the scenes, correspondence to digest and developments to understand in order to properly represent your electorate.

I would encourage readers to not believe that the best councillors are the ones who have simply attended the most meetings.
