LETTER: My service at the Pilgrim was first class

I have recently had major surgery in Pilgrim Hospital for bowel cancer and as the Pilgrim has had so much bad press and criticism recently I feel I have to say that my experience was absolutely first class.

I could not have wished for more professional staff than I had at the Pilgrim.

My surgeon Mr Ortonowski and his team, the staff in the intensive care unit and ward 5 also the follow up nurses.

Nothing has been too much trouble, they are so dedicated that they carry on regardless sometimes under difficult circumstances.

It is so sad that it is always the bad reports that get the attention but seldom the wonderful work that these doctors and nurses perform every day.

I would like to thank them so very much.
