LETTER: Thanks for help with Poppy Appeal

Letter

The time has come once again to say a big thank you to all I have been involved with, who have contributed to the Poppy Appeal Collection 2014.

First of all we had the collection at Boston United’s ground, courtesy of chairman David Newton, on November 1.

The Pilgrims played AFC Fylde and in front of 952 spectators, a record amount of £457.09 was raised.

Considering the fact that on the day I had only nine collectors available this was all credit to them and the supporters, who together helped to raise the highest amount in six years of collecting at York Street.

This was then followed by the street collections along Willoughby Road, The

Moorings and Horncastle Road as well as visits to Norprint/Magnadata factory and offices and Addlesee Funeral Directors in Castle Street, Boston.

Finally, I would like to thank Tina Risbridger, who knitted various sized poppies and donated them free of charge.

This raised extra revenue wherever I went to help and went towards a grand total of £1,157.53.

My sincere thanks to all.
