My husband and I both think the buses should be stopped from driving through the pedestrian area.
When we first moved to Boston two years ago we were astounded at the sight of a bus driving through the area intended for pedestrians!
What a stupid idea that was, and dangerous, never mind the constant wear on the paving.
Stop the buses now.
The bus company has the cheek to say the passengers need that route.
We say if the passengers on the bus can walk around the shops then they can walk a short distance. The extra little walk will do them no harm.
While we are on the subject of the town centre and the buses, maybe the council will get around to discussing the concerns about the Market Place, and the fact that cars still drive through the Market Place, when the market is on! Many times pedestrians have to quickly get out of the way when a car suddenly drives through, some not even at a safe speed!
How ridiculous and dangerous is that ?
Sorry, but I could go on and on about the town centre and the fact that some fantastic oportunities have been wasted – like the area being a place for the people to relax a bit and not have to worry about cars!
And the public toilet in that area, well the lack of one.
Boston is a beautiful town, and presumably attracts a lot of visitors. Its almost embarassing to have to direct someone to the nearest toilet from the town centre .
We do hope the council will take time to discuss all this and at least have the good manners to tell us, the taxpayer, what they plan to do about it, to make Boston town centre, an inviting, safe place to walk, and shop.
