Poetry Corner: The Apprentice

Boston Standard poet Angela Brown writes about BBC One show The Apprentice in this week’s poetry corner...

Arriving at the halfway point,

The tasks are getting tough.

Contestants dropping one by one

Not having shown enough.

With big egos and bigger heads,

They all think they know best.

Thinking those that have the loudest voice

Will win the whole contest.

Lord Sugar carefully casts an eye,

To see who looks inspired.

The rest he points his finger at

And tells them that ‘You’re Fired’.
