MARGERY Elizabeth (Madge) Chester, of Freiston, has died in Pilgrim Hospital, aged 80.
A widow, Mrs Chester used to help run an ice cream business with her husband until retirement.

She had also been employed by the Post Office, and worked as a telephonist, a secretary, and in banking.
Mrs Chester, who was born in Freiston, was a member of the Tuesday Club and also enjoyed gardening, knitting and motoring.

The funeral took place at Boston Crematorium and was followed by cremation. The Rev Andrew J. Higginson conducted the service.

Donations were made to Boston's Butterfly Hospice Trust.
Chief family mourners were: Aggie Clark (sister-in-law), Sheila and Norman Green, Wendy and Peter Dimer, John and Sandra Chester, Richard and Sue Chester (nephews and nieces), Peter Jackson and Jenifer Beeson, Aston Robinson, Samantha and Alfonzo Parla, Paul and Liz Chester, Clare Chester (great nephews and nieces).

Arrangements by Carr Funeral Service.
