JOHN Pilkington Sargeant

JOHN Pilkington Sargeant, of London Road, Boston, has died in Pilgrim Hospital following surgery. He was 71.
Born in Boston, he lived in this area all his life.
A married man, he leaves his wife Ann, sons Jonathon and Mark, daughter Clare, and grandchildren Rebecca and Luke.
Mr Sargeant was a veterinary surgeon, who practised in Boston following his gra
duation from Edinburgh University in 1961. He retired in 2002.
Mr Sargeant was a member of Nottingham County Cricket Club and supporter of Leeds United.
He was an active Freemason and life-long lover of New Orleans jazz.
His funeral, officiated by the Rev Andrew Wickens, was held at St Botolph's Parish Church and was followed by cremation.
Chief family mourners were: Ann Sargeant (wife), Jonathon and Diane Sargeant, Mark and Suzanne Sargeant (sons and daughters-in-law), Clare Sargeant and Wayne Watson (daughter and partner), Joan Leafe (sister), the Rt Rev and Mrs Frank Sargeant (brother and sister-in-law), Prof and Mrs B.T. Jones (sister and brother-in-law), Richard and Ruth Leafe (nephew and wife), Peter Leafe, Tim Sargeant, David Murphy, Charles Murphy (nephews), Wendy and Frank Carrich and family (niece and husband), Chris and Juliet Sargeant and family, Ben and Lisa Jones and family, Stephen and Jill Jones (nephews and wives), Peter Murphy (brother-in-law), Tim and Minty Murphy, Simon and Marie France Murphy (brothers-in-law and wives), Helen and Alex Green (sister-in-law and husband), Gayle Murphy (niece), Catherine Beck (cousin), Ivan Bloomer (uncle).
