Mr Brian Douglas Redmile

BRIAN Douglas Redmile has died at Lincoln County Hospital after losing his battle against cancer. He was 70.
Mr Redmile was born in Boston and lived here until he was 12 before moving to Africa.

He returned to the town in 2004.

Mr Redmile worked as a chartered electrical engineer specialising in telecommunications.

He worked for the PTC in Rhodesia
, then for Plessey (now Telumat) in Cape Town, South Africa.

He retired in 1995 but continued as a consultant until 2004.

Mr Redmile – who leaves his wife Dot, daughter Lynn, who lives in the USA, and brother and sister-in-law Jack and Heather (Zimbabwe) – was a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and an active member of Boston’s U3A.

He loved digital photography, computers, scenic drives, word games (Scrabble, Boggle etc), and did thousands of sudoku puzzles.

His funeral, officiated by civil celebrant Mike Blessed, was held at Boston Crematorium.

Chief family mourners were: Dot Redmile (wife), Lynn Redmile (daughter), Jack and Heather (brother and sister-in-law), Craig Redmile and Abi Clifton (great-nephew and partner), Edie Hewitt, Richard Hewitt, Ken and Eileen Hewitt, Ray and Janet Robinson, Joyce and Bernard Allen, Derek and Sue Redmile, Glynn Redmile, June and Barry Spencer, Andrew and Gillian Dawson, Rachel and Richard Stokes, Richard and Jackie Redmile, Rebecca Clifton, Yvonne Tollitt, Reg Doughty, Doris and Bill Obey, Jayne Driver, Alan and Christine Cushing (cousins), Adam Clifton and Jodie Heath (cousin and partner).
