FRANCES May Hall, of the Minstrels Nursing Home, Sleaford Road, Boston, has died there following illness. She was 79.
Born in Holbeach, she lived in Brothertoft for 47 years.
A widower, she leaves a daughter Jennifer, brothers Harold Benton, Les Benton, Tony Benton and Derek Benton, and sisters Eileen Garner, and Margaret, who lives in Australia. Mrs Hall also le
aves granddaughters Joanne Thompson, Amanda Proctor and Abigail Jackson, grandson Craig Troughton, and great-grandchildren Caitlin and Ciaran Thompson and Sophie and Sam Proctor.
Mrs Hall worked as a housewife and mother, and was also caretaker of Brothertoft Village Hall. She was a landworker for Peter Robinson at Brothertoft until she suffered with ill health.
She was treasurer of Brothertoft Tuesday Club and was a member of the Salvation Army Over 60s Club.
She liked gardening, knitting and cooking.
The funeral, officiated by the Rev Rosemary Taylor, was held at Brothertoft Church and followed by cremation at Boston Crematorium.
Her ashes are to be put in her late husband’s grave in Brothertoft Churchyard at a later date.
Chief family mourners were: Jennifer and Malcolm Troughton (daughter and son-in-law), Tony and Joyce (brother and sister-in-law), Eileen Garner (sister), John and Pam Hall (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Joanne and Craig Thompson, Amanda and Ady Proctor, Abigail and Simon Jackson (granddaughters and husbands), Caitlin Thompson (great-granddaugher), Craig and Kirsty Troughton (grandson and wife), Barbara Benton (sister-in-law), Debbie Bowd, Lorraine Louth (nieces).
Unable to attend: Harold Benton, Les Benton (brothers), Ciaran Thompson (great-grandson), Sophie and Sam Proctor (great-grandchildren), Margaret (sister).
