MRS Joan Mary Berry – known as Mary – has died at home in Wrangle, losing her fight against cancer aged 78.
Mrs Berry leaves her husband Leslie, sons Graham, Stephen and Andrew plus four grandchildren.

She lived in the area all her life, working at Hammonds Post Office, Old Leake, and as a canteen cook at the Giles School and Wrangle Primary.

From 19
81 until her retirement she worked at Eastwood Road Post Office.

Her greatest joy was to spend time with her family, but she also enjoyed baking and had considerable success with her cakes and pastries at Wrangle and Leverton shows.

She also enjoyed country and western music, musicals and period dramas.

Mrs Berry was a member of the Mothers’ Union.

The funeral was held at St Mary and St Nicholas Church, Wrangle, followed by a cremation.

It was officiated by Father Ken Targett.

Bradley (cousin), Mr A. Bradley, Mr and Mrs A. Thompson, Mr and Mrs M. Graves, Mr and Mrs M. Thompson, Mr and Mrs J. Graves (cousin and wife), Mr G. Thompson (cousin), Mr T. Petchell, representing Mr and Mrs D. Ingamells (cousin and family).
