Mrs Mary (May) McGarry

MARY (May) McGarry, of Parthian Avenue, Wyberton, has died in Pilgrim Hospital following a stroke. She was 81.
Born in Glasgow, she lived in this area for 62 years.

A married woman, she leaves her husband Frederick and five daughters Vivian, Linda, Maria, Isobel and Yvonne.

Mrs McGarry was pre-deceased by daughters Cynthia and Jacqueline.

During her
life, she worked at Fogarty’s, worked on the land and was a part-time canteen assistant at Boots the Chemist, before finally retiring in 1993.

Mrs McGarry enjoyed darts, dominoes, crib, bingo and was a member of the Railway Social Club, Wyberton, and of the Friendship Club.

The funeral, officiated by the Rev Angela Hughes, was held at Boston Crematorium and was followed by cremation.

Chief family mourners were: Fred McGarry (husband), Vivian Whiley, Linda Thomas, Maria Ficrohi, Isobel Thomas (daughters), Yvonne Rolfe (daughter and son-in-law), Mr and Mrs G. Hurling, Vanda Whiley, Sharon Ambrose and Amanda Curson (grandchildren), Tamara Thomas and Mr S. Noon (granddaughter and partner), Jamie and Daniel Hurling, Josh Spiller, Callum Newton, Paige Curson, Callum Fisher, Jordan Fisher, Lewis Curson (great-grandchildren), Mr T. Ambrose (son-in-law).
