VERA Whitaker, of Skirbeck Court Residential Home, Boston, has died in Pilgrim Hospital following illness. She was 94.

Born in Grantham, she lived in this area for 50 years.

A widow, she leaves her nephews Mr G. Hardy, Mr R. Hardy, Mr P. Brassley and Mr S. Hardy and niece Mrs Purkiss.

Mrs Whitaker was a housewife and corsetiere.

She was a member of St Botolph's Church prior to her move to Skirbeck Court and was a member of Boston Blind Society.

Her funeral, officiated by the Rev Robin Whitehead, was held at St Botolph's Church and was followed by cremation at Boston Crematorium.
Chief family mourners were: Mrs P. Hardy (sister-in-law), Mr and Mrs G. Hardy (nephew and wife), Mr R. Hardy, Mr S. Hardy (nephews).
