Tuesday, 2.10pm - BOSTON Tennis Club's unbeaten men's and ladies' first teams made it four wins apiece in this season's Lincolnshire Doubles League.
The men's first team faced a tough match against David Lloyd Burton Waters.

The team of Mike Burnett, Alex Cobb, Richard Cook, Ray Frankish, Sam Kemp and Mark Thompson were level at 4-4 going into the third round, with everything depending upon the outcome of the last rubber on court.

Boston played well to secure a positive result, winning a second set tie-break.

The ladies cruised to a comfortable 9-0 victory over St James' second team from Grimsby.

Boston's Rachel Atkinson, Faye Button, Sam Cook, Ashleigh Frankish, Danielle Frankish and Catherine Smura were victorious.

Other Boston Tennis Club teams have also been busy over the last two weekends.

The ladies' Seconds, also in the First Division, had their first win this season against Grantham Seconds.

A 6-3 result was a welcome result for Catherine Ellis, Sue Beesley, Phillida Dawson, Ashleigh Frankish, Jenny McGarel and Mary Smura.

In the Second Division the men's Fourths lost out 3-6 to Gainsborough.
It was too much for the team of Michael Audus, Geoff Presland, Peter Elphick, Sev Smura, Carl Robinson and Robert Linnell to turn this match around against strong opposition.

The ladies' Thirds also lost out this weekend to Appleby Frodingham in a Division Two match.

Helen Cook, Rachel Brook, Hilary Calvert, Sandra White, Ailsa Linnell and Rachel Atkinson comprised the ladies' team.

In the Third Division of the Lincolnshire League the ladies' Fifths had a 7-2 win against Bourne Thirds.

The team's two new recruits – Emily Hawkesworth and Madeline Verdegaal – made a valuable contribution. The rest of the team was Helen Motson, Sharon Thorogood, Lesley Wright and Tricia Sweeney.

The men's Fifths had a 9-0 victory over Sleaford the previous week.
The team of Sev Smura, Carl Robinson, John Gibson, David Makins, Sam Kemp and Simon Walker achieved this comprehensive result.

This weekend it was a very close 5-4 win against Pilgrim Tennis Club with the final result hanging on the last rubber on court.

This time playing for the team were David Makins, Carl Robinson, Simon Walker, Connor Trigg, Jeremy George-Jones and Lewis Trevor.

THE annual Social American Tournament will take place on Sunday, July 27 for all players.
