BEN Wilson is hoping a change of bike could signal a change in fortunes as the clock ticks down to the start of the British Superbikes season.
Wilson and his Boston-based Vivaldi Racing teammates have just returned from a successful series of tests in Spain with the new GSX-R 1000 K6 Suzuki.
He is now eagerly awaiting the opening race on the 2006 calendar so he can put the bike through its paces under race conditions.
"I am really happy with the way the testing has gone," said Wilson on his return from a three-day test in Cartagena and a further two days in Almeria.
"We clocked up a fair number of laps during our time in Spain. The bike worked really well and did everything I asked of it.
"This Suzuki is amazing and I was really on the pace.
"I am now keen to start to my 2006 season and can't wait to get out on the track at Brands, where I am confident I can match the pace of the front-runners."
Ben won't have long to wait, as it is now less than two weeks to the opening race at Brands Hatch.
Testing commences on Friday, March 24 with qualifying on Saturday and racing on Sunday. Race one will be on the circuit at 1.30pm with the second event at 3.45pm.
British Superbikes from Brands Hatch will be screened on ITV from 3pm on Sunday, March 26 with further coverage of the superbikes, plus the support races, on Sky Sports during the evening.
