JAKE Clare's time of 26-16 was enough for him to lift the 15-year-old GHS area final title at Alford Wheelers' 10-mile TT.
He was the fastest in his age group and beat four other riders on his way to booking his place in the national final in Hertfordshire on Sunday, September 14.
Fellow Velo racer Steve Blackbourn finished 12th overall with a time of 25-08, his quickest on the Alford course.

Inter-club TT

A SELECTION of Yello Velo members were involved in the inter-club 25-mile TT.
Sleaford Wheelers organised the event, which was well-supported by a field of over 40 riders on the Tuesday night.
The quickest Yello Velo rider on the night was Wojchieck Lakomy with a time of
1.01-10, good enough for him to win the group C prize and also finish fifth in the scratch times.
Asa Elkington was next home in 1.03-58 and also won a prize for the quickest group D racer.
All members who rode achieved personal bests, even though part of the course had a strong wind against the riders.

1.03-58, Alan Wheeler 1.05-14, Scott King 1.06-24, Richard Clare 1.10-09, Jake Clare 1.10-10, Theresa Johnson 1.18-46.

Yello Velo nine-mile TT

STRONG winds greeted Yello Velo riders for week nine of the TT league at Cannister Lane.
Rachael Collins raced for the very first time and Elizabeth Emberton rode only her second TT, improving her time by nearly two minutes.
Sarah Paddock recorded a personal best to keep the pressure on in the ladies' competition.
Results: Steve Blackbourn 21-58, Jake Clare 22-32 PB, Simon Willson 23-00 PB, Tim Kingswood 23-19 PB, Richard Clare 23-56, Sarah Paddock 26-23 PB, Brian Paddock 27-04; private trials – Tony Hamshaw 21-06, Dave Grayson 21-13, Mark Preston 21-57, Elizabeth Emberton 27-14 PB, Rachael Collins 30-13.
