A return to winning ways for Freiston LL

Skegness 2nd 47, Freiston LL 48-4 - Freiston won by six wickets.

Freiston, Leake and Leverton CC returned to winning ways with a resounding victory at Skegness on Saturday.

Freiston dismissed the home side for only 47 before reaching the target with the loss of four wickets in this South Lincs and Border League contest.

Ollie Booth led the way for Freiston, claiming his second five-wicket haul of the season.

He was ably supported by Taimur Mian, who claimed three wickets.

Booth began by having Elsom edge behind to be caught by Zeeshan Saeed.

Mian then bowled Redgard for 14 and trapped Hewitt LBW.

Booth put in a superb effort, bowling into a strong breeze.

For once, Freiston catching supported the bowling, Zeeshan Hassan took a sharp chance to see Foreman dismissed by Booth for one.

Connor Goodfellow took three good catches, including a superb effort running back over his shoulder.

Chasing 48 for victory, Freiston weren’t entirely convincing but did reach the target for the loss of four wickets.

Stewart Kirtley top scored with 15, whilst both Waseem Ilyas and Connor Goodfellow made 13.

Freiston were made to work by an excellent spell from M. Jackson, who took 3-17.

On Saturday Freiston host third-placed Baston in a game which will be pivotal for their promotion aspirations.
