STEVE Lane began 2012 with victory at Westwood Lakes.
In the only open contest of the week, held on Kestrel Lake, he drew the much fancied peg 16.
Using his flavoured SF20 liquid on his corn hook bait, he tempted carp weighing up to 7lbs from 11m.
Second-placed Gary Shinn used his trusty waggler and maggot combination to place 27lbs of ide and stockies onto the scales from peg 22.

Every Tuesday until March, rover matches will be held on all lakes on the complex.
On Thursdays, the over 50s matches will be held on the Skylark Lake.
