Final hurdle! BADAC’s Maria Hollingsworth will compete at the Olympic Stadium
Maria Hollingsworth.
ATHLETE Maria Hollingsworth will compete in the Olympic Stadium - after being selected to represent England in the Schools’ Games.
Maria will compete in Stratford in May, in both the 80m hurdles and 100m sprint.
Her England selection is the culmination of four years dedicated training and continuous athletics progress for the young Boston and District AC athlete, who still has a further season in the under 17s section.
Maria, a Boston High School pupil, has enjoyed a successful season on the track.
She qualified for the English Schools’ Track & Field Championships, making the final of the 80m hurdles.
She also took part in the English Schools’ AA Combined Events final as a member of the victorious Lincolnshire intermediate girls’ heptathlon team.
l BOSTON’S Princess Royal Sports Arena has been selected to host the 2012 National Schools’ Combined Events Championships in September.
