TWO Boston and District AC runners continue to go the distance abroad.

Fresh from competing in the Marrakech marathon in Morocco, Jose Ferreira and Dennis Rainbow contested the GP of Grandola Road Race in Portugal.

The twosome competed in the south of Portugal, together with 800 other runners from across of Europe.

Advertised as a 10K event, the distance on the day turned out to be an 8.8K challenge.

Gold Top Jose finished the race in 43rd overall in a time of 30 mins 20 secs, giving him 20th place in the senior men’s category. Dennis crossed the finish line in 150th place overall in a time of 34 mins 39 secs.

That was enough to earn 26th position in the veteran men’s 40 category.

Sergio Silva, the Portugese 2011 World Duathlon Champion, was the race winner.
