Morgan’s run! BADAC youngster on a roll at Sporthall event
In the East Midlands Regional Sportshall Championships, four under 11 youngsters represented Lincolnshire in the East Midlands Inter-Counties Fun in Athletics Regional Sportshall event at Grantham on Sunday.
In the girls’ competition, Boston and District Athletic Club junior member Morgan Bennett was Lincolnshire’s sole event winner.
With the top score of 60 Morgan won the balance test and added a good third place in the standing triple jump with a leap of 5.65m.
She also made a significant contribution to the Lincolnshire relay performance, thus making it an excellent county debut for the young Gold Top.
The Lincs team included three other young athletes based in the Boston area.
Andrea Barnes was seventh in the standing triple jump with a clearance of 5.19m, and 13th in the speed bounce, achieving a total of 43 at the end of 20 seconds.
Chloe Lea was ninth in the girls’ chest push event with a distance of 4.75m.
In the boys’ competition, Ben Gosling finished seventh with 5.75m.
